About Department

The Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology is responsible for dealing with diseases of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth; with special emphasis on the relation between oral and general health.

Periodontics is that specialty of dentistry which encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth or their substitutes; the maintenance of the health, function and esthetics of these structures and tissues; and the replacement of lost teeth and supporting structures by grafting or implantation of natural and synthetic devices and materials.

Oral Implantology is a branch of dentistry that focuses on replacing missing teeth with dental implants.

The department is dedicated in providing high-quality education, clinical training, and research opportunities.

Our research focuses on periodontal disease etiology, innovative treatment modalities, and advancements in implant dentistry, contributing to the academic community and enhancing patient care.
