Oral Medicine and Radiology is the first department of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis of oral diseases which might also be a systemic manifestation thorough clinical examination, radiographic analysis and other diagnostic tests along with its management. Apart from diagnosis, the specialty also offers various invasive and non invasive treatment for precancerous lesions and conditions, tobacco cessation counselling as well as TMJ dysfunction syndromes.
In addition , the Radiology Department confines the conventional radiographic procedures like intra oral peripaical radiographs, (IOPAR), advanced digital radiographic units including digital imaging(RVG), digital intraoral camera, extra oral radiographic machines for lateral cephalograms and Orthopantomogram, specialized imaging techniques like CT, MRI and CBCT.
