The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics is an integral part of Regional Dental College, Guwahati. It helps cater treatments for both dental and skeletal malocclusions. It is a special branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws, and misaligned bite patterns. It also focuses on modifying facial growth with the help of surgical orthognathic procedures.
The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics has both UG and PG sections along with the OPD where orthodontic as well as dentofacialorthopaedic screening and treatment is carried out.
The department comprises of a total of 6 postgraduate trainees with an intake of 2 post graduate trainees every year, where various orthodontic treatment modalities are carried out on patients.
